Research interests
- Dynamics of quantum systems out-of-equilibrium, both isolated and in contact with environments, both in the regime where the evolution is slow (annealing) and fast (sudden quench). Among the research lines I am currently pursuing is understanding the thermalization of a closed quantum system after a sudden of the Hamiltonian, the role of integrability, and the dynamics of periodically driven quantum systems
- Effects of dissipation in nanoscale systems both quantum and classical (nano-friction and nano-lubrication)
