Program

In this course I will discuss the non-equilibrium physics of quantum many-body systems in open systems (transport) as well as closed ones (quantum quenches). For open systems I will discuss in details the main perturbative technique used to describe the dynamics, due to Keldysh, with applications to coherent transport in nanostructures. For closed systems I will discuss a number of results obtained non-perturbatively, such as Kibble-Zurek scaling and fluctuation theorems, with applications to the dynamics of quantum spin chains.
